The European Union:The Sales PitchThe creation of a European Economic Community, with free movement of people and trade, an attempt to end centuries of suspicion, territorial disputes and trade wars. A collective of Member States seeking harmony and co-operation, neighbours, sharing common values and aspirations forming a cooperative community, supporting each other in their search for a better life for their peoples. A noble cause indeed. The TruthAfter two world wars, in which the Kaiser, and Hitler, were defeated, there are still those seeking to build a Fascist European Super-State. The Irish people have had a taste of what that might mean. The French and Dutch peoples both rejected the Mastricht Treaty. After changing the title to the “ Lisbon Treaty ” they were ignored, and the project continued. The Irish people after originally voting “ No ” to the Lisbon Treaty, have been forced under threat of economic chaos to vote “ Yes ” (so much for democracy). The SelloutIn order to facilitate Irelands entry into the European Union In 1972 the Irish Constitution was ammended, denying Irish Citizens the right to challenge, any “ Law, Act, or Measure ” necessitated BY our membership of the European union. This was again re-affirmed, in the referendum on the Lisbon Treaty. Our Constitution now is only valid in the area of domestic Law. The Irish people have had a taste of what that might mean. The French and Dutch peoples both rejected the Mastricht Treaty. After changing the title to the “ Lisbon Treaty ” they were ignored, and the project continued. The Irish people after originally voting “ No ” to both the Nice and Lisbon Treaties, have been forced under threat of economic chaos to vote “ Yes ”.OrSelf GovernmentThe Irish People have earned the right of Self-Government. The Irish People alone have the right to decide our future without threat or interference from Europe. A large section of Irish society has lost faith in the ability of Irish politicians to manage the Irish Economy, and protect the Irish Nation. However a Sovereign Irish Nation, managed by competent Irish people, in the interest of the Irish People, is not only a dream, but a real practical solution to the current problems of the Irish Nation.
